Consultations are available for private and insured patients in his clinics. Each appointment is designed to be thorough, professional and focused on your comfort and clarity.

Inflammatory Skin Conditions & Rashes

Dr Murphy treats a wide range of inflammatory skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne. These conditions can cause physical discomfort and affect self-confidence. Dr Murphy offers in-depth evaluations to identify causes and triggers, and develops targeted treatment plans — whether you’re managing chronic flare-ups or seeking relief for a new skin problem. He also treats conditions like seborrhoeic dermatitis, fungal infections, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and scalp-related rashes, which often require tailored medical approaches and long-term care strategies.

Contact Allergy & Patch Testing

If you suspect a skin allergy is contributing to your rash or irritation, contact allergy testing may be appropriate. Dr Murphy offers comprehensive patch testing to identify allergic reactions to substances such as metals, fragrances, preservatives, and more. Patch testing is a valuable diagnostic tool that allows for better management and avoidance strategies to help reduce recurring inflammation and discomfort.

Genital Skin Conditions

Dr Murphy has specialist experience in both male and female genital dermatology. Common conditions seen include lichen sclerosus, genital pigmentation issues, balanitis, and genital lesions. These concerns are often underreported due to sensitivity, but Dr Murphy provides respectful, discreet consultations with the goal of accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Previous experience includes co-leading a joint consultant and nurse-led genital skin clinic at Belfast City Hospital.

Mole Checks, Lumps & Benign Lesions

Whether you have a skin tag, lipoma, cyst, or a mole that’s changed in size or colour, Dr Murphy provides detailed assessments and reassurance. Mole screening and dermoscopy analysis can be performed to evaluate any concerns. Common treatments include surgical excision, shave removal, cryotherapy, and curettage, depending on the nature of the lesion. Patients are given clear advice on what’s safe to monitor and what needs to be removed or biopsied.

Skin Cancer Diagnosis & Surgery

Dr Murphy is highly experienced in identifying and managing skin cancer, including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and other suspect skin tumours. He has previously chaired the Northern Ireland Regional Skin Cancer MDT and led cancer-focused clinics in the NHS. Skin cancer screening, biopsies, and minor skin surgeries are all available, along with tailored follow-up plans and referrals if required.

Cosmetic Dermatology & Skin Concerns

Skin ageing, hyperpigmentation, melasma, and acne scarring are common concerns that Dr Murphy addresses with a clinical, evidence-led approach. Treatments may include micro-needling, mesotherapy, chemical peels, and anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum Toxin. Skincare recommendations and non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments are provided based on individual needs. Dr Murphy also offers steroid injections for Keloid and tailored advice for aged or sun-damaged skin.

All surgical procedures are offered following a full consultation.
